The 33rd edition of the National Beauty Contest (Señorita Colombia) was held on 11 November 1985 at the Convention Center in Cartagena de Indias, with 18 contestants. At the end, Sandra Borda Caldas (Miss Colombia 1984–1985) crowned María Mónica Urbina of La Guajira as Miss Colombia 1985–1986. The election and coronation night was broadcast live by Cadena Uno, hosted by Jairo Alonso with commentary by Lina Botero and Pilar Castaño. Musical performances were by Paloma San Basilio and José Luis Rodríguez.
