The 36th edition of the Concurso Nacional de Belleza (Señorita Colombia) was held on 1988-11-13 at the Convention Center in Cartagena de Indias. Nineteen candidates competed. Diana Patricia Arévalo, Miss Colombia 1987–1988 (Santander), crowned María Teresa Egurrola of La Guajira as Miss Colombia 1988–1989. The gala was hosted by Jairo Alonso with commentary by journalist Pilar Castaño and was broadcast live by Cadena Dos, with RCN Televisión as the programming company.
