The 37th edition of the Concurso Nacional de Belleza (Señorita Colombia) was held on 12 November 1989 at the Convention Center in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, with 20 contestants. María Teresa Egurrola (Miss Colombia 1988–1989), from La Guajira, crowned Lizeth Mahecha of Atlántico as Miss Colombia 1989–1990. The gala was broadcast live by Cadena Dos (RCN Televisión). Jairo Alonso hosted with commentary by Pilar Castaño. Performers included Amanda Miguel, Zimm Morris, the Carlos Montoya Orchestra, and Edna Rocío.
