The Concurso Nacional de Belleza de Colombia (Señorita Colombia) held its 56th edition on 17 November 2008 at the Barahona Auditorium of the Julio César Turbay Ayala Convention Center in Cartagena de Indias. On the election and coronation night, the outgoing Miss Colombia 2007, Taliana María Vargas Carillo, crowned Michelle Rouillard Estrada of Cauca as Miss Colombia 2008–2009. The event was broadcast by RCN Televisión.
