The 6th edition of Miss América Latina del Mundo was held on 16 October 1986 in San José, Costa Rica. Nineteen contestants from countries and autonomous territories competed. At the conclusion, the reigning titleholder, Victoria Josefina Mauríz of the Dominican Republic (Miss América Latina del Mundo 1985), crowned her compatriot Lucía Josefina Collado as Miss América Latina del Mundo 1986.
