The 15th edition of Miss América Latina del Mundo was held on 1998-07-26 in La Libertad, El Salvador, with 20 contestants from various Latin American countries and territories. At the end of the event, Jeannette Chávez of Costa Rica, Miss América Latina del Mundo 1996, crowned Aline Menezes of Brasil as Miss América Latina del Mundo 1998. Ana Serrano of Ecuador was first runner-up and Rosa Manríquez of México was second runner-up.
