The 28th Miss Brasil pageant was held on 27 June 1981 at the Palácio das Convenções do Anhembi in São Paulo. Miss Brasil 1980 Eveline Schroeter crowned Adriana Alves de Oliveira of Rio de Janeiro, who went on to represent Brazil at Miss Universe 1981. It was the only edition broadcast by TVS (in Rio de Janeiro and Nova Friburgo) together with TV Record São Paulo; from this year on, broadcasts became exclusive to SBT. Directed by Homero Salles, the event featured 27 contestants, including Roseli Aparecida wearing the “Miss Silvio Santos” sash.
