Miss Intercontinental 1981, the 11th edition of the pageant, was held at Aparta Hotel El Golf in Barranquilla, Colombia on October 23, 1981, with 38 delegates competing. Cristiane Passos of Brazil won the title and was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Elizabeth Gasiewicz of Argentina.
