Miss Peru 1997 was held on April 1, 1997 at the Teatro Municipal in Lima, broadcast by América Televisión and presented by Omar Fierro and Karina Rivera. Twenty-four candidates competed; winner Claudia Doph (Ancash) represented Peru at Miss Universe 1997, while other finalists entered various international pageants.
