Miss Perú 2001 was held on April 27, 2001 at the Swissotel in San Isidro, Lima, Peru. Twenty contestants competed for two national titles after Jessica Newton regained the Miss Universe franchise. A mid-show “Gala de la Belleza” selected the Miss Peru Universe representative for Miss Universe 2001, while the rest continued for Miss World Peru 2001. Verónica Ruecker crowned Viviana Rivasplata (Lambayeque) as Miss Peru 2001, and Tatiana Angulo crowned Marina Mora (La Libertad) as Miss World Peru 2001. Later, organizational changes led to Rivasplata also representing Peru at Miss World 2001, with Mora competing at Miss World 2002.
