Miss Dominican Republic 1989 was held on December 19, 1988 at the Sports Palace in Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, with 28 delegates competing. The winner advanced to Miss Universe 1989; Miss Dominican Republic World to Miss World 1989; Miss Dominican Republic International to Miss International 1989; and Miss Dominican Republic Latin America to Miss Latin America 1989. It was the first edition since 1978 in which provinces were not represented more than once.
