Miss República Dominicana 1999 was held on 3 March 1999 at Palacios de los Deportes in Santo Domingo, organized by Gatsby Dominicana. Thirty-six delegates competed, with Luz Margarita Cecilia García Guzmán (Moca) winning the title. This edition was the first in the pageant’s history to select a fifteenth finalist. Titleholders were assigned to Miss Universo, Miss Mundo, Miss Internacional, Reinado Internacional del Café, Reina Mundial del Banano, and Miss Atlántico Internacional 1999. The winner ultimately represented the country at both Miss Universo 1999 and Miss Mundo 1999 after the original Miss Mundo delegate was unable to enter the host country.
