Miss Universe 1954 was the third Miss Universe pageant, held on 24 July 1954 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, United States. Christiane Martel of France crowned Miriam Stevenson of the United States as Miss Universe 1954, marking the first U.S. victory; Stevenson concurrently held the Miss USA and Miss Universe titles. Thirty-three contestants competed. The pageant was hosted by Bob Russell and featured the "Star of the Universe" crown made of cultured and black pearls set in gold and platinum, valued at $500,000, which was used for the next six editions.
