Miss Universe 1977 was the 26th Miss Universe pageant, held on 1977-07-16 at the National Theater in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Rina Messinger of Israel crowned Janelle Commissiong of Trinidad and Tobago as Miss Universe 1977, marking the first time a Black woman won the title and the first win for Trinidad and Tobago. Eighty contestants competed. The event was hosted by Bob Barker, with commentary by Helen O'Connell.
