Miss Universe 1980, the 29th Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea, on 8 July 1980—the first time the event was hosted in South Korea. At the conclusion, Shawn Weatherly of the United States was crowned by outgoing titleholder Maritza Sayalero of Venezuela. Sixty-nine contestants competed.
