Miss Universe 2006 was the 55th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States on 2006-07-23. At the conclusion, Natalie Glebova of Canada crowned Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico as Miss Universe 2006, marking Puerto Rico’s fifth win. Eighty-six contestants participated, a new record at the time. The telecast was hosted by Carlos Ponce and Nancy O'Dell, with Carson Kressley and Shandi Finnessey providing commentary. Performances were by Chelo and Vittorio Grigolo.
