Miss Universe 2018, the 67th edition of the pageant, was held on 17 December 2018 at Impact Arena in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. Steve Harvey returned as host alongside supermodel Ashley Graham, with Carson Kressley and Lu Sierra providing commentary. American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo performed. A record 94 contestants competed. At the end of the event, South Africa’s Demi‑Leigh Nel‑Peters crowned Catriona Gray of the Philippines as Miss Universe 2018, the Philippines’ fourth title. The event also marked the first participation of an openly transgender contestant, Spain’s Ángela Ponce, who received special recognition during the telecast.
