Miss USA 2011 was the 60th Miss USA pageant, held June 19, 2011 at the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts in Paradise, Nevada. Rima Fakih crowned Alyssa Campanella of California as Miss USA 2011, California’s sixth title and first since 1992. Campanella later represented the United States at Miss Universe 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil. The pageant drew online attention after a video compiling contestants’ answers to whether evolution should be taught in schools went viral.
