Miss World 1977, the 27th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 17 November 1977 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, United Kingdom, and broadcast by the BBC. Mary Stävin of Sweden won and was crowned by outgoing Miss World 1976, Cindy Breakspeare of Jamaica. The runners-up were Ineke Berends (Holland), Dagmar Winkler (West Germany), Madalena Sbaraini (Brazil), and Cindy Darlene Miller (United States). Sixty-two entrants competed, and several withdrawals occurred, many in protest against the participation of Miss South Africa.
