Miss World 1980, the 30th anniversary edition of Miss World, was held on 13 November 1980 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, United Kingdom, and was televised for the first time by Thames Television for ITV. Gabriella Brum of West Germany won and was crowned by Miss World 1979, Gina Swainson of Bermuda; Brum resigned 18 hours later. Fourteen days after her resignation, first runner-up Kimberley Santos of Guam was crowned the new Miss World by Miss World 1977, Mary Stävin of Sweden.
