Miss World 1984, the 34th Miss World pageant, was held on 15 November 1984 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, United Kingdom. Astrid Carolina Herrera of Venezuela won, crowned by outgoing Miss World Sarah-Jane Hutt of the UK. The runners-up were Constance Fitzpatrick (Canada) and Lou-Anne Ronchi (Australia). The event attracted 17.1 million viewers in the United Kingdom. This edition saw the return of Kenya (last competed 1968), Nigeria (1979), French Polynesia/Tahiti, and Sri Lanka (1982); Indonesia, Liberia, Tonga, and Turkey withdrew.
