Miss World 1998, the 48th edition of the pageant, was held on 26 November 1998 at the Lake Berjaya Mahé Resort in Mahé, Seychelles. The event featured 86 delegates and was hosted by Ronan Keating and MTV’s Eden Harel. Israel’s Linor Abargil won the title and was crowned by Miss World 1997, Diana Hayden of India. Shortly after the competition, Abargil revealed she had been raped several weeks before the pageant.
