Miss World 2004, the 54th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 4 December 2004 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. It was the second consecutive year Sanya hosted the event. Rosanna Davison of Ireland crowned María Julia Mantilla of Peru as Miss World 2004. A total of 107 contestants competed, the largest turnout in the pageant’s history at that time, a record later surpassed in 2008.
