The 8th edition of Reina Sudamericana was held on 1998-11-06 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, with candidates from 10 countries and territories competing. At the end of the event, Patricia Fuenmayor of Venezuela crowned Susana Barrientos of Bolivia as Reina Sudamericana 1998.
