Nuestra Belleza México 1997 was the 4th edition of the national pageant, held at the Teotihuacán Hall of the Centro Internacional de Convenciones in Acapulco, Guerrero. Thirty-two contestants competed. Katty Fuentes of Nuevo León won the Nuestra Belleza México title and later represented Mexico at Miss Universe 1998 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Blanca Soto of Morelos won the separate Nuestra Belleza Mundo México 1997 title and competed at Miss World 1997 in the Seychelles. For the second consecutive year, the edition featured two separate finals: the Nuestra Belleza Mundo México selection on 13 September and the main final on 20 September, both hosted by Raúl Velasco and Karina Velasco and broadcast by Canal de las Estrellas.
