Nuestra Belleza México 1998 was the 5th edition of the national pageant, held at the Salón Teotihuacán of the International Convention Center in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico on Saturday, 19 September 1998. Thirty-two contestants competed; Silvia Salgado of Nuevo León won and later placed in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago. The Nuestra Belleza Mundo México 1998 title went to Vilma Zamora of Guanajuato, who competed at Miss World 1998 in the Seychelles. The event, hosted by Lupita Jones and Marco Antonio Regil, was broadcast live on Canal de las Estrellas and marked the first back-to-back national win for Nuevo León, with outgoing queen Katty Fuentes crowning Salgado.
