The 7th edition of Nuestra Belleza México took place at the Emilio Sánchez Piedras Auditorium in Apizaco, Tlaxcala. The Nuestra Belleza Mundo México semifinal was held on 2000-08-26 and the final on 2000-09-02, broadcast live on Canal de las Estrellas. Forty-three contestants competed; Jacqueline Bracamontes of Jalisco won the national title and later represented Mexico at Miss Universe 2001. She had first won the Nuestra Belleza Mundo México semifinal, so the Miss World 2000 spot passed to runner-up Paulina Flores of Sinaloa. Lilián Villanueva of Quintana Roo received the Nuestra Belleza Internacional México 2000 title after winning Best Hair, but did not attend Miss International 2001 due to a franchise loss; she was later sent to International Queen of Flowers 2001, which she won. This edition featured separate selections for the Mexico and Mundo titles.
