ENFrom edition_translations
Miss France 1929 was the 5th edition of the Miss France pageant, held on 1929-02-04 in Paris. Germaine Laborde (Miss Gascogne 1928) won, succeeding Raymonde Allain (Miss France 1928). About 1,200 candidates entered, with 180 advancing; Yvette Labrousse—who later became Miss France 1930 and the Begum of Aga Khan III—was first runner-up. Separately, a gala organized by L’Officiel at the Lido on 1928-11-09 proclaimed Marguerite Dufresne as “Miss France 1929” under a different contest.
