The 15th edition of Miss France took place in the salons of the newspaper Comœdia in Paris. Ginette Catriens was elected Miss France on 23 April 1939, reportedly chosen from twelve candidates. The jury, meeting in Faubourg Saint-Honoré, was chaired by painter Kees van Dongen. The winner received a prize of 50,000 francs.
