Notes

ENFrom edition_translations
Miss France 1969 was the 39th edition of Miss France, held on 1 January 1969 at the Salle des fêtes de la Benauge in Bordeaux. Suzanne Angly, Miss Alsace 1968, age 17, was crowned Miss France. A perfume saleswoman whose father was a construction site manager, Angly reportedly stood on a crate of wine bottles serving as a makeshift podium for her crowning. The favorite, Miss Bretagne, declared she would refuse the title due to planned marriage in March 1969 and said she would resign if elected. The event was not broadcast.
