Due to restructuring in the Miss Peru Organization, the 2012 pageant was not held as a traditional competition. Instead, representatives for 2012 were appointed at a press conference on February 9 at Friendship Park in Surco, Peru. Nicole Faverón, the 1st runner-up at Miss Perú 2011, was appointed Miss Peru Universe 2012 to compete at Miss Universe 2012. Giuliana Zevallos was appointed Miss World Peru 2012 to compete at Miss World 2012. Former Miss Peru 2008 Karol Castillo participated in the crowning. The regular pageant edition was moved to June to select winners for 2013.
