Miss USA 1955 was the fourth Miss USA pageant, held at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, on July 20, 1955. Miriam Stevenson of South Carolina crowned Carlene King Johnson of Vermont as Miss USA 1955, marking Vermont’s first win. Forty-three contestants from states and cities competed in swimsuit and evening gown rounds, with speeches by the fifteen semi-finalists. The event was hosted by Bob Russell. Johnson later competed at Miss Universe 1955 and placed in the Top 15.
