Miss USA 1956 was the fifth Miss USA pageant, held on 1956-07-18 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California. Forty-three contestants competed. At the end of the event, Carlene King Johnson of Vermont crowned Carol Morris of Iowa as Miss USA 1956, marking Iowa’s first win. Morris later competed at Miss Universe 1956 and won.
