Miss USA 1972 was the 21st Miss USA pageant, held May 20, 1972 at the Cerromar Beach Hotel in Dorado, Puerto Rico. Tanya Wilson of Hawaii was crowned by outgoing titleholder Michele McDonald of Pennsylvania. Bob Barker and Helen O'Connell hosted, with the Everly Brothers as guest entertainers. It was the first time the pageant was staged outside the continental United States. Two bombs exploded at the hotel during the event, causing property damage but no injuries; the venue had been picketed earlier that day.
