Miss USA 2017, the 66th Miss USA pageant, was held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Paradise, Nevada, on May 14, 2017. The live telecast was hosted by Terrence J, Julianne Hough, and Ashley Graham, with performances by Pitbull, Brett Eldredge, and Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: One. Deshauna Barber of the District of Columbia crowned Kára McCullough, also from the District of Columbia, marking the state’s fourth Miss USA title, the first back-to-back wins for a state since Texas in 1988–1989, and the second consecutive African American winner. McCullough later placed in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2017. This edition reduced the number of finalists to 10 from 15 in the previous year.
