Miss Venezuela 1984, the 31st edition of the pageant, was held at the Macuto Sheraton Hotel in Caraballeda, Vargas state, Venezuela, on May 11, 1984. The event was broadcast live on Venevision and, for the first time in the pageant’s history, featured animals on stage. At the end of the night, outgoing titleholder Paola Ruggeri crowned Carmen María Montiel of Zulia as Miss Venezuela 1984.
