The 46th Miss Venezuela pageant was held on September 10, 1999, at the Poliedro de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela, and was broadcast live by Venevision. Carolina Indriago crowned Martina Thorogood of Miranda as Miss Venezuela 1999. This edition marked the first time since 1958 that the official Miss Venezuela competed at Miss World; Thorogood finished as 1st runner-up. Due to contractual obligations with Miss World, she did not compete at Miss Universe 2000, leading organizers to stage the separate Miss República Bolivariana de Venezuela pageant, won by Claudia Moreno.
