The 17th Miss Brasil pageant was held on 19 June 1970 at the Pavilhão de São Cristóvão in Rio de Janeiro. Miss Brasil 1969, Vera Fischer of Santa Catarina, crowned Eliane Fialho Thompson of Guanabara as the winner. The winner represented Brazil at Miss Universe 1970, and the runner-up represented Brazil at Miss World 1970. The event was broadcast by Rede Tupi.
