Miss Costa Rica 2021 was the 66th edition of the national pageant. Owing to COVID-19, the winner was appointed rather than selected through a traditional competition. On 2021-08-30 the organization designated Valeria Rees Loría (Heredia), first runner-up of Miss Costa Rica 2020, as Miss Costa Rica 2021. A coronation ceremony aired on Teletica on 2021-10-28 featured swimsuit and evening gown segments; Ivonne Cerdas (Miss Costa Rica 2020) placed the sash and crown on Rees. Rees earned the right to represent Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel.
