The 12th Miss France pageant was held on 20 June 1936 in the salons of the Comœdia newspaper. Lyne Lassalle (Miss Picardie), aged 18, won the title, selected from twelve finalists. The ceremony took place in the afternoon. The jury included painters Brunelleschi, Domergue, Brisgand, Georges Scott, Émile Baes, Beltrán Masses, Cappiello, and others; sculptors Auguste Maillard and Francis La Monaca; photographer Gaston Manuel; journalists including Henri de Weindel; and Jean de Rovéra, director of Comœdia. It was chaired by Princess de Mézagne, with Maurice de Waleffe as organizing president.
