Miss France 1972, the 42nd edition of the Miss France pageant, was held at the Palais des Fêtes in Épernay in December 1971. Chantal Bouvier de Lamotte, 17, Miss Paris 1971, won the title, succeeding Myriam Stocco (Miss France 1971). Following serious injuries from a fall from a horse, Bouvier de Lamotte abdicated and passed her title to Claudine Cassereau, Miss Poitou.
