Miss France 1978 was the 48th Miss France pageant, held on 28 December 1977 at the hall of the Mercuriales towers in Bagnolet, France. Pascale Taurua (Miss Calédonie 1977) won, succeeding Véronique Fagot (Miss France 1977). Taurua chose to return to New Caledonia rather than serve; her 1st runner-up Brigitte Konjovic (Miss Paris) assumed the Miss France 1978 sash and was slated for Miss Universe. Due to health issues, Konjovic was later replaced by 2nd runner-up Kelly Hoarau (Miss Réunion) to compete at Miss World. It was the only year when the top three alternated the title within the same year. The final featured a record 55 contestants.
