Miss France 1988, the 58th Miss France election, was held at the Théâtre de l'Empire in Paris on Thursday 31 December 1987 from 23:00 to 01:00. It was hosted by Sacha Distel, with assistance from Caroline Tresca and Chantal Bouvier de Lamotte at the Europe 1 switchboard handling viewers’ telephone votes. Thirty-six candidates competed, and Sylvie Bertin (Miss Bresse-Bugey) was elected Miss France 1988. The event was broadcast by FR3 and directed by Guy Job, marking the first Miss France final fully aired on FR3.
