Miss USA 1996 was the 45th Miss USA pageant, held at the South Padre Island Convention Centre in South Padre Island, Texas, with the final and coronation on 1996-02-02. Ali Landry of Louisiana was crowned by outgoing titleholder Shanna Moakler of New York. The event was hosted by Bob Goen with color commentary by Maty Monfort, and featured entertainment by Aaron Neville. It was the pageant’s third and final year on South Padre Island. This edition also marked the Miss Universe Organization’s first dedicated website for the pageant and the first Internet vote for Miss Photogenic.
